Alex joined Gosschalks as a trainee in 2011 and qualified in 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Alex studied for two years at the College of Law in York. Before that, he worked in marketing, franchising and the leisure industry.
When asked what attracted him to the profession, he jokes that it was the pinstriped suits, but in reality he enjoys the challenge.
“Sometimes it is not the most glamorous of jobs but you have to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. It is not uncommon to find myself sifting through piles of deeds dating back hundreds of years, but when you find what you’re looking for and the client or lawyers I’m supporting are happy, it all seems very worthwhile.”
Upon qualification Alex took up a position within the firms Commercial Property department, having previously enjoyed a spell within Licensing where he received praise for his ability to communicate in plain English and for his meticulous approach to his work.

“I was always taught to work hard, play hard and enjoy life to the full. That outlook fits nicely with the culture at Gosschalks and ensures there’s always a challenge to be had.”
