Ian joined Gosschalks 1974 as a trainee. He qualified 1976 and has worked at the firm ever since. Ian became a partner in 1978. He originally practiced in both Family and Criminal Law but then specialised in Family alone covering all aspects, he has since 1998, specialised in high worth cases.
Ian was, for a number of years, Managing Partner and has been head of the Private Client Department since its inception in its present form. Ian specialises in Divorce, Cohabitation and Pre Nuptial and Cohabitation agreements.
Ian is a member of Resolution which is a body of family solicitors across the UK whose aim is to deal with cases in a way which eases the emotional and financial pain of family breakdown. Ian is also trained in Collaborative Law which provides an amicable alternative for couples who want to reach fair solutions and who wish to avoid the acrimony that can arise with the more traditional approach where the courts are involved.
He also writes and supplies local accountants with a bi annual newsletter.
