Nathalie Stewart elected as new president of Hull Law Society
Gosschalks Associate, Nathalie Stewart, announced as new president of the Hull Incorporated Law Society for 2016
Nathalie Stewart, has been elected as the President of 2016/17 of the Hull Incorporated Law Society. An Associate at Gosschalks specialising in Employment Law and Civil Litigation, Nathalie has been an active member of the Society for several years and had previously held the position of Vice President.
The organisation, which was established in 1818 to ‘encourage liberal and fair practice among attorneys and solicitors’, also includes barristers, trainee solicitors and chartered legal executives as its members.
Nathalie is a popular and friendly figure in legal circles and the business community around Hull & East Yorkshire. She attended South Hunsley School in Melton before graduating with a 2:1 in Jurisprudence at Oxford University. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course in Nottingham. Nathalie has previously worked in London at the Law Commission and PwC before returning to Hull. She joined Gosschalks in 2014 and was promoted as Associate soon after.
An experienced litigator and employment solicitor, Nathalie has undertaken advocacy at the Employment Tribunal and County Court in respect of employment disputes and acts in bespoke areas for complex civil litigation matters and clients, namely personal injury cases involving serious injuries requiring significant future care and fatal accident cases and also specialises in High Court contentious probate cases involving disputes over wills or Inheritance Act claims.
Nathalie said she is looking forward to the year ahead as the new President, adding “As President I will be encouraging an improvement in the communication between members and other professionals and will also be placing a strong emphasis on raising awareness of the society in general during the coming year.”
“I am keen to hear from our local members about the type of events that they would like to see on the calendar and look forward to continuing the great work of past Presidents who have set the standards extremely high."
During the year there are a number of events organised by Hull Law Society. These include a host of networking and educational events as well as the eagerly awaited annual Law Society Ball which this year will take place at The Deep, Hull on 22 October 2016.
Nathalie’s role as president of the Hull Incorporated Law Society begins immediately and will be effective for one year.Return to the updates archive »
